THORDIS BJORNSDOTTIR (1978) is an Icelandic poet and novelist who has published several books in Icelandic and one in English. Her poetry and fiction have appeared in various magazines, both in Iceland and the United States, and a poem of hers was selected for the anthology of the literature magazine Tin House in 2008.
Her books are: Ást og appelsínur (A Flame of a Broken Glass), 2004; Og svo kom nóttin (And Then Came Night), 2006; Vera & Linus, 2006; Í felum bakvið gluggatjöldin (Hiding Behind the Curtains), 2007; Saga af bláu sumri (A Tale of a Blue Summer), 2007. Her second novel, Sónata fyrir svefninn (Sonata for the Sleep), is to be released at the end of year 2009.

Jesse Ball's fiction and poetry has appeared in many national journals, among them The New Republic, Circumference, Oberon, Agenda (UK), The Paris Review, The Boston Review, Denver Quarterly, Fence, and Conduit. His writing is distinguished by an oblique address that is at once absurd and deeply serious, mordant and playful. In 2006, his poem "Speech in a Chamber" was chosen for the anthology The Best American Poetry 2006.
